1977年東京都生まれ。
1980年代に起こったシミュレーションアートやアプロプリエーションアートなどと呼ばれる手法を踏襲し、その文脈を日本人である自身がどのように紡いでいくかを熟考し制作を行う。あえて古典やポップ・アートの名画、またアニメやマンガ、ゲームからの引用といった既存のイメージを組み合わせ、鑑賞者へ既視感を与えつつ共感でも反感でも某かの化学反応を起こすことを目的とし、消費し尽くされジャンク化していくサブカルチャーを美術表現として成立させることを試みる。新しい工業テクノロジーやメディアを積極的に採用し、古いものと新しいものを掛け合わせ、アートにおけるオリジナルとは何かを追求している。
Born in Tokyo in 1977.
Mori elaborates on the simulation art and appropriation art of the 80s by integrating his own Japanese background, exploring whether artistic expression could arise out of over-consumed and junked subculture. His works combine existing images of classic and pop art masterpieces with those of anime, manga and video games with the intention of creating some kind of chemical reaction with the viewer, whether it be familiarity, sympathy or antipathy. He challenges the idea of originality in art, by constantly adopting new industrial technologies and materials and crossing the old with the new.
